Internationale Jugendarbeit
Unter dem Motto „Youth Exchange Team International“ finden seit 2014 internationale Jugendbegegnungen statt. Dabei kommen 2 (bilaterale Begegnung), 3 oder mehr Gruppen aus verschiedenen Nationen zusammen. Die Altersgrenze durch die Fördergeber „Jugend für Europa“ und Bundesjugendplan (über bdja) ist von 15 auf 12 Jahre heruntergesetzt worden. Die Obergrenze ist bedingt durch die Definition „Jugendlicher“ bei offiziell 27 Jahren, erfahrungsgemäß ist eine Altersspanne von 6 Jahren (12 – 18 Jährige) produktiv und handelbar. Jede 8 – 10 Jugendliche umfassende Gruppe soll die gleiche Anzahl von Teilnehmern haben.
Um ein kreatives und spielerisches Grundthema (bspw. Film, Mittelalter, Musik, Workcamp) herum werden von den teilnehmenden Betreuerteams gemeinsam die 14 Tage dauernden Begegnungen vorgeschlagen und vom Team Vorort geplant.
Für unsere Jugendlichen geht es um die eigene Identität und die der Gruppe, um die Auseinandersetzung mit der eigenen Herkunft, um Heimat, um Deutschland, aber auch um die Auseinandersetzung mit Nationalismus, Fremdenfeindlichkeit und anderen Vorurteilen. „Jeder Mensch ist Ausländer, fast überall.“ – dieser Satz kann erlebt und begriffen werden.
In der Evaluation der Begegnungen wird mit am häufigsten positiv genannt: sich auf Englisch miteinander unterhalten, kommunizieren, ohne Angst vor Sprechfehlern. Diese Form von außerschulischer Bildung wird erlebt als neue Situation, anders als in der Schule, wo aus Angst vor schlechter Bewertung eher nichts, als etwas Fehlerhaftes gesagt wird.
Viele Jugendliche haben entweder keine Möglichkeiten ins Ausland zu fahren oder auch als Touristen kaum Gelegenheit, intensiveren Kontakt mit Menschen im Reiseland aufzunehmen. Bei den internationalen Begegnungen nehmen sich die Jugendlichen sehr schnell nicht mehr gegenseitig als Fremde und bedrohlich wahr, sondern entdecken sich gegenseitig als Jugendliche mit gleichen Interessen, unterschiedlichen Traditionen und interessantem Auftreten. Die Kampagne „All different – all equal.“ zeigt dies deutlich.
Die Vorbereitungszeit für die Gruppe beträgt günstigenfalls ½ Jahr, die „alten Hasen“ sind dabei wichtige Multiplikatoren für neue Teilnehmer. In der Vorbereitungszeit wird auch darüber diskutiert, wie die Gruppe neue Teilnehmer aufnehmen kann. Die internationalen Begegnungen sind ja Gruppenaktivitäten und keine zu buchenden touristischen Angebote. Deswegen wird eine intensive Information über und Auseinandersetzung mit dem Gastgeberland oder den inhaltlichen Programmteilen angestrebt. Je nach Anzahl der Partner finden diese alle 3 – 5 Jahre auch von uns organisiert in Deutschland statt.

Die geplante Begegnung in Deutschland, die wir 2020 in Mecklenburg durchführen wollten, mußte CORONA-bedingt leider ausfallen. 2022 gründete sich eine neue YETI-Gruppe (YouthExchangeTeamInternational) - im August 23 ging es wieder nach Slowenien.
Fachkräfteaustausch
Mitarbeiter von Spielkultur Berlin-Buch e.V. können in jährlichen Treffen bei uns oder bei anderen mit Kollegen aus Europa und oft darüber hinaus in Austausch treten.

2020 - wir hatten geplant, den e.p.a.-Fachkräfteaustausch bei uns in Buch durchzuführen, Coronabedingt mußten wir leider absagen, auch 2021 waren die Bedingungen nicht so, dass wir daran weiterplanen konnten. So gab es aber im September 2020 wenigstens ein Vorbereitungstreffen.

2016 - September - EFCF - Confernence in Växjö, Schweden EFCF conference 2016 in Växjö
The Annual EFCF conference took place in Växjö, Sweden from 14 – 18 September. Present were 80 participants from 10 countries (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, United Kingdom, Australia and Italy).
The conference was organized by the Swedish 4H in cooperation with the City of Växjö and Studiefrämjan- det, which is one of the largest study associations for adult education in Sweden. It works work mainly in the field of non-formal life-long learning and organises study circles, cultural events, seminars and projects in all of Sweden's municipalities. Studiefrämjandet's par- ticular specialisms are nature, animals, the environ- ment and culture.
2014 -Mai - Dures Albanien Up4Change – with Thoughts Care and Play!
Up4Change brought together in Albania from 18th - 25th of May 2014, 33 young colleagues from 25 countries focusing on the Mediterranean, the Central and Southern Europe region.
We invited to:
- debate share and learn about the role of Play and Non-formal learning in our work.
- reflect/change our working methods and learn play skills through the training and informal learning we do at the Seminar.
- understand and become aware of the changes taking place in Albania and other ex-totalitarian states.
- address the issues facing our young people today.
- think and reflect on changes – the financial meltdown, the after math of the wars in Ex-Yugoslavia – and how we are affected.
- share our experiences of working with young people from disadvantaged communities.
- care for each other and the children we meet, to play and use creativity in all our activities.
2012 - Mai - European Training Course for Youth & Play Workers in Derry in the North of Ireland
“What’s in it for children and young people?” - how to develop opportunities for creative participation - playfully! It involved young colleagues from 27 European countries. Our host was the e.p.a. partner the Playtrail in Derry.
2010 - Mai - The e.p.a. Training Course in Thessaloniki – Greece took place in May 2010 and brought together youth workers from all over Europe to share, learn, discuss and debate issues around Youth Poverty & Violence to identify the connections and within the embrace of Human Rights, to see an antidote in challenging these issues.
As a background for the project were the riots and violence by and against youth in Greece in the last years, which showed how vulnerable peace is, even in Europe. At the same time there is a perceived increase of youth violence in many other countries with contemporary economic challenges, which also influences the life of young persons and causes youth violence to continue to be a challenge for all those trying to accompany young people and work for the modern triangle of égalité, liberté et solidarité. The main objectives of the seminar were to create the conditions to share, interact and contribute to the theme and to get an idea of Intercultural youth work, Human Rights and Peace education, as an “antidote” to youth violence and social exclusion.
The e.p.a. methodology was based on plenary and small group meetings, interactive workshops, project visits, cultural excursions and all with the hallmark of e.p.a. playful creative and innovative environment ... the tried and tested e.p.a. concept of working, playing and learning together.
